This... I love this.  Via [livejournal.com profile] siderea, Rosetta Code:
Rosetta Code is a programming chrestomathy site. The idea is to present solutions to the same task in as many different languages as possible, to demonstrate how languages are similar and different, and to aid a person with a grounding in one approach to a problem in learning another.

...this is the most perfect thing I have read ever.

I've been going through feminist burn-out recently, and wondering how to both be a feminist and not bring down the sun, and I've been blundering by, and then this jewel!  Right here!

There was suck between me and Josh, and now there really, really isn't.  It's amazing what coming to the table assuming good faith on the other's part does for communication.

This all directly translates to "I am so happy I could burst".

Bad: My alarm clock utterly failed to bother to go off.  Third time this week I've been late.

Bad: I have a wicked rippin' headache.

Okay: I bought a gift card from McD's for my coworker, since it's the third time this week I've been late, and that's rude to him.

Good: When he went for lunch (he's the 3a-12p guy, so 8-ish is lunch for him), he brought me back some Aleve.

Fantastic: Marketing-guy came back from a conference with swag, and I got my hands on a level/tape measure on a keychain, OMG.

LEVEL ON A KEYCHAIN.

I am officially the happiest I've been since Obama got elected.  For why?  For because I now have access to my music again, hjsghsjkHAHAHAHA YAY.

*listens to Rolling Stones on repeat*

*rocks the fuck out*

I spent most of last evening and all of this morning installing updates.  I was running a bit low on disk space (the primary drive is just 10 gigs, so), which made installing SP3... problematic.  Wherein I ran into the assfuckery that is the MS Windows Update page.  For serious, could it suck more?  And I don't mean in a Chandler way, I mean in a sincere question way.  Is it possible?

Anyways.  This new machine (a) doesn't sound like it's dying and (b) remembers the time from hour to hour.  (Seriously, the last machine kept forgetting what time it was.  Sigh.)

Once I get the sound issue resolved, and I figure out if I can put more memory in it, I'm going to move my files from my laptop to my desktop, and then see whether I can install Ubuntu on the laptop.  I might have issues, it doesn't have that much memory, but I can at least try.

And then, ve dance!  *snaps fingers*

I saw BABY KITTENS OMG yesterday.  They were in a closet at a friend-of-Josh's place.  Out of the four, one had one eye open.  !!!!!

Josh: I knew that once you saw them, you'd never leave.
Me: Well, if I knew there were kittens in the closet, I wouldn't've come out!

I slay me.

But not as much as kittenz do.

Me: My life is set up poorly if there is no room for kittens in it!

Clearly, I need to reevaluate my life!

I've been linking this to everybody:

PRETTEH.

MediaWiki is pretty.

Firefox 3 is good for me in that I can search not only on URLs-from-the-beginning-only, but also on the title, and anywhere in the URL.  *omg face*

And the Special:Permissions plugin for MediaWiki is awesomesauce.

I need to acquire this song and stick it into my Uppers playlist post-fucking-haste.

It... so... I can script things in MM.  And it comes with a case checker.  That assumes that the first letter after an open parenthesis is to be capitalised.

...

...

I'm in heaven.

I'm going to get fuck-all done today.

My new omg music love is Ruled By Secrecy by Muse.  That's a YouTube link - start at roughly 1:17.  (The beginning is the end of another song.)  For the lyrics, go here.

I am so glad for Greasemonkey today.

- I've updated the killfile script to (a) work for newer versions of WordPress and (b) strikethrough the killed username.
- I've added "alternatively" to the Dumb Quotes script so I never ever have to see it again.
- I created a script that kills that Snapshot-esque Yahoo! folderol.
- And, of course, the Twitter things.

Ahahaha.

AND IN OTHER SQUEE:

Log Parser 2.2: "Log parser is a powerful, versatile tool that provides universal query access to text-based data such as log files, XML files and CSV files, as well as key data sources on the Windows(r) operating system such as the Event Log, the Registry, the file system, and Active Directory(r). You tell Log Parser what information you need and how you want it processed. The results of your query can be custom-formatted in text based output, or they can be persisted to more specialty targets like SQL, SYSLOG, or a chart."

So...

I can put my event logs into a SQL database.

Oh my sweet funky god.

Okayso, you're using Firefox, and you have a text field.  It has a bunch of things in its autocomplete thingie.  Clearing that out involves clearing the history.

Did you know?  You can delete individual form entries.  Go to Google (or wherever like that), and hit the down arrow to see the autocomplete list.  Arrow down to select an item, then hit Shift-Delete.

I need to read these FF keybindings things more often.

Holy crap.

LJ has a mass privacy changy thing, Edit Journal Privacy: "Change the privacy level of all posts in a certain timeframe by choosing the start and end dates. You can also specify that only posts of a certain privacy level should be changed."

I just tested it for 11/28/05, switched all public entries to friends only.  I'm smert, and opened two tabs with the day's entries, on the off-chance that tags got wiped.  And they didn't!  Tags were preserved, and all public entries got converted!  LJ even sends an email when it's done!

It doesn't do filters, just public/friends/private.  But you know, I'm okay with that.

Oh, ♥s to this.
