Today on shit I hate: when my body toys with me.  I managed to not be a coughoholic at Thanksgiving yesterday; I am apparently paying for this by coughing myself awake after 3 hours of sleep for the second day in a row.  (I can't tell if that sentence makes sense.)  I'm gonna have a fuckin' six-pack at this rate.

I both don't want to spend all my time complaining about coughing, and would like to sleep more than 3-4 hours in a night.  Decisions!
xtina: "But today, the pattern of lights is *all wrong*!" "Oh god! Try pressing more buttons!" "*It's not helping*!" (tech support)
I just had a dream wherein everybody coughed, and then I woke up to cough.  It took me a couple of coughing fits to realise that I had gone to bed already, coughing had just woken me up, and that yes, I'm awake now.

This is tiiiriiing... /sing-song

So, I got tired, and I tried to go to bed.  I was coughing continuously, so [personal profile] rosefox gave me two cough suppressant things.  That got me coughing infinitely more, I am still coughing a half hour later, and now I'm getting a bit itchy.  Plus I think I've missed the "tired + sleepy" window.

I am whining because argh, is why.

(a) No, I do not think I'm allergic to the cough suppressant things.

(b) No, I do not think I have accidentally pissed off a god somewhere.

Still sick, or something.  Achey, a headache that hasn't gone away for two days now, a cough that makes the headache so fun, temperature modulation breakdown, and a marked increase in whining.

Ah yes, that's the other deep and abiding hate in my heart, with regards to fruitless hospital endeavours:

Not just that people might thing I was making things up because anxious, but that I actually might have been making them up, subconsciously, because I'm anxious.  See also "hypochondria" and "psychosomatic".

I can barely tolerate being thought of as a malingerer or liar, without considering my sources of body-related data inherently unreliable.

Yesterday: full of unexplained crying jags.

Today: full of explanations and uterine strip-mining.

The shot sucked.  Hep A, on an empty stomach, had me lying on the floor, with my thumbs hurting because I was so dizzy my hands wouldn't unclench enough to even drink a small can of juice.

So here's your free "you should've known" advice:

Don't get immunisation shots on an empty stomach.

...and I think I may be catching a cold.

...

HA

[eta] So, today it is all about water, and orange juice, and more food than usual, and maybe taking sleep-aids in order to sleep more tonight.

I may also write up a to-do list of work-only things, for this week, so that I don't lose track.

Yay infected ear piercing.  Or I assume - red, itchy, swollen, itchy, and other gross things.  Fie.

Steps to address:

* Sea salt soak, followed by rinsing the area fairly thoroughly.
* Apparently, I shouldn't take the piercing out?  But I did, to switch with an earlier one I didn't have a problem with.
* ??
* Profit!

And perhaps go to the local piercing place, to have one of them take a look-see or advise or [other].

Input awesome.

Likely obvious fact:

I call spiders "pretty".  As in, I refer to them as "pretty".

Unrelated:

I have spider veins on one side of one thigh.  There are ways to remove them, but dude, I have spider-flesh, mwaha.
